Many and varied. But the main objective is to lever you out of habitual modes of thinking, and introduce you to other views of "reality".
The overall message is that all humans construct their own perception of existence (or "reality tunnel") mainly by accident, through random formative experiences. Therefore happiness and fulfilment are subject to the whims of chance. The book offers a solution to this, by opening the possibility of building a better "reality" through conscious choice.

>Exercise one is to visualize a coin and go looking for it
>See clearly a penny with a scratch on the back
>Go outside and somehow find that exact penny with the scratch
>Another exercise is basically practicing wim hof, or pranyama. That is, inhale and exhale as fully and quickly as able
>After 5 minutes entire body vibrates and feel like I took heavy drugs, is consistently able to stop pain and anxiety
>Another exercise is to speak as quickly as possible without knowing what you're going to say next
>Get to see clearly how my subconcious works and what words and phrases it uses, learn about myself
>Another exercise is to pretend to be of a completely different political ideology, philosophy, religion, culture. He actually recommends pretending to be a hardcore nazi/commie/jew/whatever and coming up with a fake plan for taking over the world with the new ideology

Doesn't matter, the aim of the book is for you to realize that you create your own "reality tunnel". Make any ritual for the coin, meditate on the coin, write a story about the coin, it doesn't matter as long as you convince yourself that you created the coin that you will encounter.
The book is an exercise in mystical skepticism.

One thing I've experienced and found weird;

This is only tangentially related, but have you ever fucked around with a dream machine? Seems like something you'd enjoy, basically it's using a flashing light to fuck with your brainwaves, you see closed-eye visuals and have a general feeling of calm. It was popular in Burroughs' circle during the 60s, and I wouldn't be surprised if RAW has made use of one.

I did them when i first read the book

I chose to believe in Feng Shui which was pretty enlightening to see the world through a different aesthetic. All of these exercises help break your complacency around the filters you regularly operate behind. It can make you feel pretty schizoid if you take it too seriously

>> No.17201678

>>17201516
I've been doing it consistently since 2015 and haven't had any negative side effects. It's been an ancient practice from tradition to induce a different sensation across the body. That alone makes it a unique tool for inducing brain change. That said, I wouldn't do it standing up, I wouldn't do it driving, and ect. I only have my personal experience to relate but it's been a great aspect of my life. I do it while masturbating for better orgasms. I do it while meditating to induce a ticklish sensation across my body. It's worth it to try once for it's mind changing abilities, and it's benefit is it can be done any number of times anywhere.

I agree anon, I was just disagreeing with the fact that you claimed that it isn't hyperventilation

>> No.17201742

>>17201696
Oh, well in that case we're in agreement. Yeah actually it is self induced hyperventilation, but an important emphasis on the full inhale, full exhale, and steady pace. It's an interesting thing to experiment with, for the new sensations across the body, but I think you show shrewdness in seeing the potential danger. I would be willing to say though, that there is a negative type of hyperventilation, with unsteadiness, nervousness induced, ect. This particular type of a positive hyperventilation though can be used for great good, however. As long as it's done right.
