Does anyone know to get working pdf when borrowing book from archive.org?
I've used Adobe Digital Editions to get encrypted pdf, but I can't convert it to normal one.
I've tried Calibre with latest DeDRM plugin, but it fails to decrypt it. Any other ways?
Book is "The triumph of Pierrot : the commedia dell'arte and the modern imagination."

No but I'd love to know how.
How exactly do you borrow a book from them?

I've just registered free account at archive.org and pressed "borrow for 14 days". Now I can freely read it online and in Adobe Digital Editions. It's really great, but I really want to save the book pdf for later reference.

Some sort of ocr?

The copy is disabled and ctrl-c doesn't work

I've never used ocr, but it already needs a pdf or image sequence to work, right? I can't decrypt pdf, I can just see the book in program window or online.

OP, Calibre couldn't decrypt the Adobe Digital Editions PDF for me either, but it worked once I used these specific versions of each software for the process:
- 2.0.1 of Adobe Digital Editions https://archive.org/details/ade-2.0.1
- 4.23 of Calibre, https://download.calibre-ebook.com/4.23.0
- 6.8.0 of DeDRM, https://github.com/apprenticeharper/DeDRM_tools/releases/tag/v6.8.0

It's also possible to download each page of the book as images, from the webviewer. Opening the network console in your browser (F12 -> Navigate to a tab named "Network") you can inspect every request that comes into your browser, this includes the pages of the book as you flip them, served as images. You can then right-click an image listing and copy its url and save it, but each has to be done one by one. This is quite tedious so I prefer to crack the DRM, even if the process is more convoluted.

I'm stuck on 1%, is it normal?

It's my last resort. I wanted to avoid print screening 346 times

No need to convert the PDF into EPUB, just import it and export it. deDRM will crack it the moment you imported the PDF, if it's installed properly.

It worked! Thank you so much!
