idk if this is "lesser known," I've never seen anons talk about it. It was extremely beautiful and funny and I read it at a time when i was enamored with this girl who lived in a country farmhouse and I was in love with her house more than with her. The book is a series of vignettish meditations and explications on specific plants and animals

>> No.17103561

>>17103536
I'm not him nor have I read the book (but I have done research on it). From what I've seen, he talks about the general lack of teleology in capitalism and how that has led to what we have now, where we see the ultimate goal of capitalism not as a means to promote the common good in a traditional Aristotelian/Thomistic sense (the guy who wrote this is Catholic), but as a means to accrue more wealth for it's own sake. So yeah, in his thesis, capitalism leads to the worship of Mammon in the same way that socialism does due to their innately materialistic worldviews.

I’ve read chapters, not the whole book. It’s not well-known because it’s shelved in the book case of “religious but esoteric and possibly heretical”. He’s known for Christian magic by those who are in the know but it’s not like it’s regarded as an official book. It’s regarded as heretical and those interested in magic don’t typically read Christians.
