Anyone know of any good Latin study boards or discords?

nuntia noxia dare semper latina exercere volo, sed nullo cum exercere habeo.

autem quidque vos foeda stultaque estis. hoc dixi ut cognoscatis.

Peabrain high school me who had no work ethnic liked Lingua Latina more, because it eased you into it in an immersion approach. But if you're not retarded like me, then Wheelocks is genuinely good

I bought the Wheelock's with credit I amassed at a used book store by selling them nice editions of books I didn't care about. Was a hardcover Art of War, a Kant critique, and a Russian translation of Lolita I think. I had no money at this time but I really wanted the book, had a very comfy few weeks doing those Latin exercises at my apartment and in the park.

Yeah it's been keeping me sane this year. Feels like lifting for the brain and as patrician as you can get with language study. Aside from Greek which is the real ursprach.

it's an excellent textbook, sucks that you hated it but it's very well paced

Try an hour a day/chapter a week, spend a lot of time listening to the tapes and speaking out loud. Like the other anon said it's extremely comfy, and very rewarding imo.
And really if you're fluent enough in any european language and pay attention to Latin terms in philosophy/law/medicine, it's easymode. For anglos who have never studied a latin family language the grammar might be a bit to wrap your head around at first.

Yeah this the vocabulary from Spanish doesn't have me turning my head except in that they match so much.

I've been filtered by Greek 3 times now. Once I felt like I was almost starting to get it but I had to stop studying because of other circumstances. The way the sentences are formed just confounds me

My friend who learned it recommends some online intensive and says he couldn't have done it without. The way he describes some of the constructions it sounds like fucking moonspeak, everything is irregular, and there's a wider variety of strange dialects.
But god damn if it wouldn't be based to be able to pick up one of the Oxford classical texts with the preface and apparatus in latin and the body in ancient greek and be able to read the whole thing.
