I've pretty much only read science fiction and crime fiction. What genre should I read next?

I really liked crime fiction and I was actually looking into true crime, not a novel but the website murderbook.com, found it because I was reading Michael Connelly and it's his site. The thing is I was actually convicted of crime myself recently so I hate both those two genres now. Actually I'm still fucking depressed about it and haven't read a single book since I was charged, and probably won't be able to read a book in a while.
