1. Harry Potter is not progressive at all. Here are my thoughts on the right wing themes or anti liberal themes of Harry Potter.

In Harry Potter, nature trumps nurture. Harry Potter is not great at Quidditch because of any hard work, he is good simply because he is a natural. Also, we can see other examples of nature trumping nurture in other areas. Harry is better at Defense Against the dark arts because of his natural ability. Voldemort is naturally powerful and can be seen to be very powerful at a very young age by Dumbledore. Dumbledore also has always been a talented wizard due to his natural talent. We can even see this when we look at the Malfoy family. The Malfoys gave Draco every advantage in life yet Harry who never even knew about magic until 11 is able to best Draco in everything due to Harry simply being better.

We can see another right wing theme in regards to leadership. The government leaders are shown to be inadequate compared to Dumbledore. It doesnt matter that politicians have legitimate power due to Democracy or however it works, Dumbledore is shown to be the better leader simply because Dumbledore is the best of the wizarding community. He is the most powerful wizard and thus is shown as the one who people should put their loyalty towards, not a government politician.

We can see a distaste of the media. How journalists are willing to lie and manipulate events just to get a story and that they are enemies of the good people. Rita Skeeter is the best example of this.

2. Another theme is that hoarding wealth is not seen as immoral. Harry is shown to have an enormous amount of gold and he does not give away his money. He might be generous a bit, but there is nothing showing that those who are rich are evil for hoarding their wealth, instead it is shown to be good and cool to have so much money.

And going back to nurture vs nature, we can see that being a moral person has nothing to do with nurture in the Harry Potter universe. Harry Potter was abused for 11 years of his life and yet he is a morally upstanding citizen. Whereas Voldemort is shown to be naturally bad due to his mom raping his father with a love potion. Nothing could have made Voldemort good, he was naturally evil.

And finally we can see how muggles are seen as being inferior to wizards. Muggles are made to be a joke in the Harry Potter Universe, they are incompetent and basically useless compared to muggles. And squibs like Filch are made to be a joke for not having the ability to do magic.

And another thing is how all the bad people in Harry Potter are also physically ugly. The Dursleys, Umbridge, Voldemort, Aunt Marge, all are ugly. And the good guys are all said to have a pleasant look to them.

3. Another important part. The house elves are all basically slaves and Hermiones attempt to free them all never works because the house elves all love being slaves and are proud to be slaves. That part is really wild. Its like something out of a southern white nationalists book.

And something else that is not really right wing but is more in line with incel talking points is the Snape, Lilly and James love triangle. Snape is the incel beta who is edgy and gets involved with a terrorist group because his one true love didnt love him back but rather decided to fall in love with the chad James potter who was an amazing athlete.

this is mostly because of le chosen one trope, I would argue Malfoy getting shit on is more about an attack on the privileged and master race purebloods not being superior at all, think of how when leftys make fun of /pol/ types they will attack them on being weak or ugly or fat etc. You also see this with Hermione is the brightest witch of her age while being a muggle born, 'proving' the pure bloods wrong.
