Every time someone talks about deeper meaning in poems, stories and songs, I'm 99 percent sure they're making shit up out of their ass.
There is no "meaning" in fiction, it's just some bullshit some emo faggot decided they were going to write on paper and see if anyone was dumb enough to publish.

I mean, you can interpret and find the answer in a math problem or why something happens scientifically, but Art, English, and Humanities classes pretty much just exist to teach people how to make shit up about irrelevant bullshit that does nothing to benefit the human race.

In a way, OP, I agree with you.

But that "shit...out of their ass" is their interpretation with the materials they are given. If it helps them appreciate the text on a higher or "deeper" plane--I can dig that. And, really, they're just trying to show you why they appreciate it on that higher or deeper plane.
