Okay hold up. Books that are assigned reading in class are always the same ones that are part of the curriculum. You would never be studying your teachers personal passion project in a school setting. In what situation would you be watching your teacher as she grades your paper anyways? Are you telling me that as soon as you handed it in, she specifically chose to start reading yours immediately out of everyone else's in the classroom? And you said she 'skimmed' it, so the emotional impact of briefly scanning over a couple of your poorly written sentences was enough to bring her to tears? Horse shit. Lies.

idek it was some dumb shit about star cross lesbian teens in a love triangle. one was a vampire, the other was a witch, and the other was transgender. all the while they were fighting ancient pagan demons who had taken the form of white males in their city, ie the mayor, teachers, fathers, etc....the prose was really bad so i just spend through the book, and i guess it would have been an okay book for like 5th graders even if it was trash, but in my essay i just talked about how much i hate this book and wondered if the author had brain damage if they thought their story was compelling. like my whole thesis was this book was a waste and shouldnt be read by 5th graders let alone in a college level

When I was in uni my English teacher absolutely assigned us some shitty whahman remake of Heart of Darkness. "State of Wonder" I think it was called and it was all about some tribe's ritual of eating bark to boost fertility and the whahmen researchers interacting with them (one of whom sleeps with her boss, because why not?). The humanities are beyond redemption.

Kek. This reminds me of when I took a classic literature course and the professor would use books to justify the class hierachy system of yesteryear. He even had us study an essay he published in Breitbart about how women and immigrants brought down the Roman Empire. I correctly pointed out that was not the fact. His face turned so red and he pointed his finger at me yelling KEK. I took of my glasses and cleaned the lenses and told him "I'm black sir. If anything I'm the bull and you're the cuck". Funny enough I saw someone complaining about nigger students on a 4chan thread earlier and I'd like to imagine that was him.

You remind me of those freshman on /sci/ who are surprised their professors use textbooks written by them, that you're required to purchase at the campus bookstore, and you're wondering why that's "allowed."

Hell, all the language classes I took used material written by whoever taught the course.
