Check out Greg Egan.
Permutation City and Diaspora are both very good with some really cool concepts. Egan goes pretty hard with the science, even moreso than Watts.
Also, there's a sequel to Blindsight.

I've read Permutation City. Will read Diaspora.
I don't really like Echopraxia. Dropped it after they got on the ship with the vampire. If you tell me it's worth finishing it I'll finish it but it doesn't have the same oompf as the first one.
