Is he the most influential thinker of the modern epoch? looking at his influenced page on wiki it seems so

Probably, like it or not

>> No.16965582

If you want to be "influential" the best way is to be the center of a state religion. Same trick worked for Jesus.

Yes. Marxism became a secular religion and it's the largest religion on Earth.

I read Peter Singer's introduction to marx which really put me off marxism. marxism is not for me im afraid, so dishonest and insistent is marxism.

This is the definition of a non-literary thread. A thread that names Wikipedia by name but not any of the writer's books. If Jannies keep this up, that shows they will not take down left-wing threads in even the most extreme cases.

Does Hegel inherit all of Marx's influences since he influenced Marx?

We all know that to be true anon. You see, the right wing beta is a unique creature though. His entire identity subsists on a fragile sense of ego and worth. Were he ever to feel confident amd secure, he would no longer be a right-winger, but would transition into a liberal. They must fear everything and perpetuate the myth that they alone are oppressed. It's a funny phenomenon once you learn it.

It’s basically undeniable. For better or worse every country on earth had an active communist movement to a greater or lesser extent during the 20th century, and much of the world was actively ruled by governments that proclaimed fidelity to his ideas. He’s part of a small group of most important people in world history, up there with The Buddha, Confucius, Jesus, and Mohammed (pbuh).

Now if you just want to talk about academic influence Marx is in the company of Kant, Hegel, and JS Mill for most influential.

That’s a bad book and I’m sorry you read it. Singer wrote books on Marx and Hegel basically because he hates them both and wanted to turn students off both of them. In his Hegel book he literally repeats ‘thesis antithesis synthesis’ like somebody who has never even read Hegel

The left wing entity is also a unique object. She wonders her world alternating between stupefaction and hysteria. Brimming with self importance she thinks the world has conspired against her to oppress her unique consciousness and body. If she had a father or humility she would deradicalise but shes too far gone.

I doubt an academic with his reputation and credentials is trying to poison students against a somewhat irrelevant intellectual. Im not gonna give Marx's work anymore of my time anyway.
