>Hegel was a sorcerer and the Left and Right being lobotomized bastard children of Liberalism and Conservativsm don’t get this. He advocated for a supreme divine state much like the Reich or the USSR’s plans for Europe and so you can take his insights and use them to justify extreme statism or some kind of techno-socialist autarchy. Right Hegelians focus on his dealings with Spirit, Leftists focus mostly on the Dialectic itself and try to secularize that as some type of silent-pneumatic machinery that drives history towards class conflict and communist statism. They’re both insane and Hegel’s phenomenology is a form of memetic psychoactive agent that binds the minds of everyone who reads it. Its venom, pure necrotizing linguistic magic. He was a genius for this reason. Also if you’re not an autistic retard he basically shows you how the techno-alchemical engineers of civilization are transforming humanity into a sacrificial killing field for otherworldly forces but that’s not interesting to rightists or leftists because they’re castrati golem creatures who only exist to poke holes in the barrier between man’s conscious rational awareness and his subconscious cthonic realm. If you wait long enough Hegel’s name will come up in most discussions by these groups. He’s the root of all their lunacy.
What did Anon mean by this?

I'm reading an outline of it's content right now. Very fascinating. Thank you!

I've read that, it's great. Very good scholarship. Combine this with whatever interpretation of Hegel you think is most credible and you've got it (i.e. you can start reading something else instead of losing years on the primary sources, yes I think that).

You mean to not read the Hermetic texts at all, or to not read Hegel at all?

I'd check Magee's quotations of Hegel before buying too much into his thesis. There's a bad tendency to overstate and ignore all qualifications that Hegel used to discuss his interests in hermeticism. Go ahead and compare the quotations from any one chapter with their surrounding context.

hegel is a piece of shit who wanted to larp as scientist as desperate attempt to be taking seriously. Hegel shows the hype train of intellectualism is a mistake killing society

HEGEL and Marx wanted to pass as a scientific be due to the masses being in praise of the scientific. So Marx said he was a materialist and said hisotry is materialistic.
Marx tried to so hard to larp that he even put high school maths his books, and made mistakes, but since the masses were not educated, just like today, they all viewed him as legit.
This from those people that you get ''history is a science'', ''economy is a science'', ''psychology is a science'' and so on. All those non-Stem crappy fields pushed by liberals as a science.

Then 150 years later, all the morons who idolize science and maths from popsci videos on YouTube still praise him.

So I have a question: are you one of them?

Why would Magee be a dick like that?

>> No.16951506

>>16951352
Mutt take. u are half right right about Marx, but he only plagiarized Hegel to further the LARP. EVEN then you give Marx way too much credit he himself even admitted to using dialectics merely as a rhetorical tool to gaslight his opponents in ideological debates. Marx is a smear on Hegel's legacy, then again Hegel should have been wiser than to throw pearls in front of swine.

I don't think he's being a dick, I think he's either too enraptured in seeing two subjects he's interested in tied together such that he can't remain objective about that tie, or he's caught up, like all scholars, in the scholarly industry of having to produce "new, interesting" research that he can specialize in for job security. His Hegel dictionary is fine, mind you, but the Hermeticism book is shocking for how badly it stands up to scrutiny as simple as checking the lecture passages he quotes. There's something there, sure, but not anywhere near his claim.

Kek, okay, maybe go look up the history of the terms "scientia" and "Wissenschaft"; he's not pretending his philosophy is the same as physics.

I thought this book was pretty shallow. It has nothing to do with the post quoted in the OP.
