Who is your favorite romanticist author? Who is your favorite romanticist poet? Yes, I know the painting is overused

>> No.16945814

Who even made this painting anyway. Like, I know the painting but not the artist and it pisses me off. I wanna know.

Why would you hate it? It's a great painting.

You can see it in the art museum in Hamburg.

Probably Victor Hugo. A lot of romanticists feel like they were posers, contrarians, or slaves to the pure esthetics of the movement. With Hugo, I feel there is actual substance to the writing.

It would be anachronistic. If the subject of that painting was alive today (upper middle to upper class Englishman in the country), he'd wear the modern equivalent, I. E. Something like pic related.

I fucking hate Wanderer, and I hate that it's always stuck with TSZ (favorite book).
I don't climb mountains on cloudy days so I can have a shitty half-obscured view, or for my bourgeois ass to feel superior to the rabble under their veil of ignorance. I climb on sunny days, for a bright and clear view of the totality of my kingdom, to reorient my aspirations toward the horizon, and to clear the veil and uplift those under my charge.
