Is this the deepest book ever? I've read it over fifty times and haven't even begun to scratch the surface. It's literally amazing.

Why would you read it more than once? DFW's writing style is such that he explains every single aspect of every single object (plot events, characters, settings, philosophical musings, etc.) in the book exhaustively. It's written such that you can read through it once and get everything out of it. Could you re-read it just because you enjoy it? Absolutely. But I doubt I'd get any more "insights" by reading it a second time

a lot of stuff is introduced before being fully explained later, rereading with that fore-knowledge would probably give a decent amount of new info. i'm a slow reader and have too much new shit i want to read to bother re-reading a 1000 page book just for that tho

It's a pretty depressing book if you have an addiction.

I feel as though I've read books like this but I can't actually think of a specific one.

>TFW you'll never be a white male author who gets to write an incoherent ebonics chapter for a black character because it's current year not 1996 and you would be cancelled for racism.

Midwit plot-analysis bullshit. indistinguishable from the people who write essays on the time turner in Harry Potter.

Even in 1996 you only got away with that if nobody actually read your works
