Nono i have read Flannery O'Connor. I intent to never read a book written by a female again. Flannery O'Connor was amazing by the way but /lit/ told me she is the only woman worth studying and i feel comfortable following this advice.

Can't tell if waste of trips or based. I had to watch the movie when it came out. I watched it with a bunch of girls and to my relieve they hated the movie too and bitched about the pseud main character.

I had to read The Handmaid's Tale in High School. Luckily for me my English teacher (a female) was based otherwise and that was the only mistake we had. Back in the days we didn't really looked at it from a feminist perspective either it was more about fascism i guess.

Possession: A Romance by A.S Byatt. No joke. This novel is hands down one of the best novels I have ever read. It follows to literary scholars that discover love letters between the fictitious Victorian poets Randolph Henry Ash (who is based off of Robert Browning/Alfred Lord Tennyson) and Christabel LaMotte (who is based off of Emily Dickinson/Christina Rossetti). As the love story unravels, Byatt implements fictitious poems, journal entries, academic essays, and other historical fiction techniques to illicit a strong narrative. I highly recommend, especially if you're a lover of Romantic and Victorian poetry.
