Hey /lit/,
waddahell did I just read? I just finished it, I read it trough to the end, I really did, but I don't know why, if you wanna know the truth. Maybe just for the hell of it.
The style depressed the hell out of me, those repetitions and all on every goddamn page, telling the same things over and over.
And the story itself, for Chrissake, it made me a madman. I don't know about Salinger, to tell you the truth, I haven't read any other books by this guy but he seems pretty phony, he really does.

So, have you read this
>masterpiece
of a book? Your opinion?

I like OP's idea for a thread. I'd contribute if I was feeling more creative and less tired. Maybe later. Looking forward to reading your contributions, /lit/.

Loved it actually because it was like reading about an American version of myself.

>> No.1690964

Hey OP,

If you really want to hear about it, the first things you'd want to know are my opinions and all that /lit/erati crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.

>> No.1690965

That jokes pretty stale, but I agree that Salinger is phony, but so's everyone else.

>> No.1690981

thanks OP

a little leaked out the tip

>> No.1691037

That just about killed me, it really did.

>> No.1691039

you have to be in the mood that kind of stuff, you really do.

>> No.1691041

OP is a phony.

>> No.1691043

depressed the hell out of me

>> No.1691166

I only read it because I heard about it inspiring murderers, and I wanted to know why. When I found out, I realised something about the mind of man, and it was an epiphany. So I liked it, even though it was no fault of the author that I did.

>I wanted to know why. When I found out

yeah, same here, the shit book is made of just makes you rage so hard that you go on a killing spree

>> No.1692182

Everyone is a phony.

The phonies think other people are phonies.

>> No.1692188

it's not such a bad book. it catches some grief sometimes but it's not so bad. better than half the other goddamn books out there that's for sure. i don't know why the hell anyone would give the thing so much goddamn attention if it was such a crummy book.

it's actually a good book, no bullshit. it is a good book. i think people get too enthusiastic about it but that doesn't make it a bad book.

>> No.1692212

>>1692194
you stop.
it is a likable story related to by millions.
DEAL WITH IT

>> No.1692215

Like Sartre said, we are all phony. The only ones who are not phony are the ones that accepts that and knows it, but then again, that is a contradiction.

I liked the book. Why did Coulden do all this things? He would never go through with anything and never accepted or acted as himself. In fact, he was the biggest phony off them all.

I laughed, I really did.

>> No.1692239
