>tfw finished reading the Iliad
>starts with Achilles wrath
>ends with hector funeral

wait where the fuck is the rest of the story? Where is the wooden horse episode? What about Pyrrhus? Philoctetes?

There were much more parts, but they have been lost to time.

Doesn't it continue in the Odyssey or is there a timeskip? The wooden horse is in Virgil's Aeneid iirc.

The Odyssey skips to AFTER the war ends and Troy is sacked. We literally only know about the other parts because of flashbacks and Odysseus going to visit his dead war buddies in Hades who reminisce back when they were alive.

I see. When did humanity lose the texts? Shakespeare seemed to have a good idea as to what happened at the fall of Troy, or did he make it up?

The Illiad is about Achilles finding peace.

He found peace through forgiveness.

The rest is boring.

The story is complete as it is.

Achilles is pissed.
Stuff happens
Achilles is still pissed.
The scene of forgiveness.
Hectors funeral.
The end.

It's a complete story.

>> No.16897576

We lost those.
The rest of the story is known through other books and synopses.
