What grade level/reading ease do you aim for in your writing?

Is this too hard to read for an undergrad assignment?

You're supposed to have an audience in mind when you write, and then cater your writing to that audience

Maybe if you're cringe. Non-cringe people write for themselves.

...what? Ok so you know your audience, it's you. Just write in language that you understand.
Anyways you're wrong about 'non cringe people write for themselves' but I'm not going to talk shit about a man keeping a diary, but you shouldn't talk shit about men who change the world with their words.

My audience is my own aesthetic sense.

Ok, that's absolutely fine if you don't want anyone else to read your works, but if you wish to change someone's opinion on something it is imperative you know your audience and speak (write) using language they understand. Aristotle covers this in his discussion of Rhetoric if you're at all interested.

What program is this that tells me the writing level?

Commercialized take. This is not how real art is made

I write fiction. The absolute last thing I want to do is convince anyone of anything.

No it's a fucking intelligent take. What is the purpose of communication with oneself? Useless. Create ART for the AUDIENCE don't jerk off to yourself.
>>16868648
You're still supposed to use the language your audience will understand. Compare the writing styles of Tolkien to Shakespeare to Maya Angelou. Three completely different approaches to communicating ideas to their audience and all three are masters of their craft.

This thread is (like any other gathering of humans) full of retards and beneath me, therefore I am off.

I can say definitively that I understand every word I commit to paper. The idea that art should be created for the audience is an intrusive one and has no merit or adherents outside of MFAdrones.
