Is this worth reading? I thought the strange death of Europe was great and I liked some of the podcasts Murray has done but all that anti SJW stuff is boring to me.

But it explains why instead of just making broad and bold baseless assertions like the identity politics, PC, pro-immigration, anti-free speech people do.

You don't believe you've trained yourself subconsciously to see anti-white sentiment everywhere?

No i don't believe that. Do you believe that i have don that?

Do you also believe that the people that are getting social justice warriors have trained their self to unconsciously see anti black / anti women/ anti gay / sentiments everywhere?

It's a good read, he essentially foresaw 2020, his only fault is that he thought it would happen later.

>> No.16849303

>>16849259
Hmmm. Some of the sentiment in both cases comes from a legitimate concern. However when a worldview and identity is based around it seems shallow and non-critical the "evidence" gets less and less based on reality and becomes more of a false reality that seems to cause great damage tk the individual caught up in it.

I didn't mean to imply that you sufferred from such, though I do think the baader-meinhoff syndrome explains some of the more extreme disseminators of "white genocide theory."

>reality and becomes more of a false reality
No such thing. All realities are like this. The alertness the general culture initially gave him is no less fake than his alertness now. So long as it's not to the point of seeing random people on the street as stalking you or out to get you, I don't see how noticing things is constructing a fake reality. If anything it's doing away with the obscuring of the culture imposed on him as a child. I think basing your identity on this race stuff is bad but I recall until I was like 15 I would defend non-whites (includes non-race stuff this is just an easy catchall) in this completely brainwashed, unreasonable sperging out way whenever the topic came up. Self-righteous, paranoid, barely based on what anyone has said (as in they didn't need defending because in fact everyone was painting them in an unrealistically positive light), etc. And this was just absorbed from the general culture with me being more neurotic and self-righteous about it than most.

It's not 2017 anymore. We all moved on. Stop listening to these ridiculous "Intellectual Dark Web" people and grow up. You are going to have to sit down and read books about political history and political philosophy. It will take literally years until you have a clear grasp of things. But it's worth it if you want to understand the world. If that sounds boring or too hard, don't do it. Stay bluepilled. But don't kid yourself by reading these stupid pop-journalism books. You are being conned, and you will be left disappointed, forever chasing down the next pop-philosophy book or Youtube Video Essay or podcast that explains the world to you.

Also, the fact that the existence of mass immigration and favouring foreigners over natives is basically labelled a conspiracy theory by msm tells you all you need to know about the supposedly true, balanced reality you are so concerned with deviating from.

Except they aren't noticing things that are related to what they clame them to be related to. How many times have you seen a movie or game feature a colored charachter and these types go "Look more anti-white sentiment." That's a ludicrous assumption and directly goes against logic and critical thought. I simply believe people should work toward "Healthy" skepticism. As in be critical and skeptical of your own thoughts. Examine your own beliefs and see if they hild up to scrutiny. If you do this, as I've done, racism tends to fall out of favor regardless of societal norms. Surely you should recognize that 4chan is a societt in its own right, and that "conditioning" happens here too in an even more blatant and obvious manner. When you ask to be redpilled, you're asking to be brainwashed unless those so called slices of truth are actually accurate and in many cases they arent. Still many on here build their entire identity and worldview around fundamentally false pretense and since it seems counter to outside society they feel like it must be truer and mpre organic. When you look into it critically though, it often simply is not.

The problem with political books is they don't tell you anything you haven't heard before. Including this one. I read it. Lots of retread of information I already knew.

To be fair to Douglas Murray, he says (in the couple of podcasts I have listened to him on lately) that people shouldn't expend all their energy on books like his
he says he wrote that book hoping that people could read it in order to understand and *get over* the current woke/sjw movement, and get back to more important work
he says you should make sure to step away from bullshit unimportant debates in current year and read classic books, watch classic movies, listen to classic music to remind yourself that there's more to life
I agree that anyone spending all their intellectual energy on low-effort idwposting is probably wasting their time; as part of a balanced diet, it's not the worst thing in the world
