Hey, /lit/. I've been into really slow-paced, richly detailed writing lately. Got any recommendations?

wow. i've never seen anyone who read this book on /lit/ except me. I

be warned OP...clarissa is heavy duty. it's the longest novel in english literature at 1.2 million words. it's also written in epistle form ( letter writing) and it's tedious.

but if you want slow-paced, richly detailed writing ...you cannot top this book.

it took me 6 month to finish..granted i'm not a fast read but it's so rich you have to stop and reflect a lot

It's a marathon to get through, but it truly is spectacular. Richardson is an incredibly underrated writer imo.

To OP, if you're looking to get a taste of it, try reading Pamela. It's like Clarissa lite.
