read good books, think about what you like in them and why. think about what you would do different and what you hate. now start writing. do it a lot and think about what youre doing, it takes a lot of practice. If youve got an interesting enough vision on what youve read, you will out that in your writing. once youre satisfied with the product you send it to an editor to get it rejected.

You'll never achieve greatness. Your innere motivation is the simple wish for fame and social gratification and not the Faustian impulsion real artists are driven by. Just end yourself

writte about all sort of shit so long you actually believe on what youre writting and have actuall talent
best genres are politics, fantasy and philosophy
done youre the best writter in your gender but the thing is you cant be really the best writter in history...beacuse it depends on what you writte about if youre the best at political theory you naturaly wont be as good in fantasy beacuse your own work will pale in comparisson

It's the attempt to put any kind of abstract phenomenon, which can't be described merely by words (because then it would be context without intuition) into a formal narrative, so the readers can actually comprehend the concept or idea. If you don't have no ideas and just write for the sake of fame, you're an opportunist and will never be a great artist.

Ability to do what? You need a fundamental idea, that you want to put into narrative form, otherwise your writing will be shallow

Ah. But then if I were to seek to put the phenomenon of fame into a formal narrative, because I want to be famous for doing so, for making people comprehend that concept, then that's faustian, is it not ? It seems like faustian is more a way of doing things, and less a motivation.

First, build an impressive lexicon.
Second, work on your diction.
Third, work on the eloquence of your style.
Fourth, you'll need to have good.. nay, great ideas.

Be a hack, but be serious about it. Study the great hacks. Learn how to strip the art from every aspect of writing so you can summon it without thought. Obsess over how publishing companies work instead of what you want to write. Then, find the best publicist in NYC, and go down on her so hard she/he hires the right people to blurb you as "the best writer in history"

There's no such thing as a best writer.
You may as well try to become the best scientist, or the best athlete.
Find what you genuinely want to become, pare it down into something you can achieve, and then work on it by setting concrete and achievable goals.
Otherwise, you'll become nothing at all.

>or the best athlete.
you can actually be the best athlete though. sports are a competition. there are prizes in literature and sciences but they're not a competition, or at least they shouldn't be. absolutely everything is a competition these days

>> No.16828664

>>16828653
You can be the best athlete at one sport, maybe even a couple, but not all of them.
It's effectively impossible to be the best boxer, endurance swimmer, gymnast, and pole vaulter at the same time. The requirements on the body are too different, and mostly incompatible.

>> No.16828675

In all seriousness op, you probably won't be, but trying to be a good writer is definitely something within your capabilities, read the classics and practice as much as you can. After a while muster up the courage to post your writing somewhere and have it critiqued.
