I don't have the slightest idea how to recommend economics books to someone because I don't know how much or how little the average person knows.

This >>16813808 would probably be my best guess of where to start if you just want a high level discussion. If you wan to know something useful for more than a drunk discussion with your friends, then Varian's Intermediate Microeconomics is where you would start if you were taking a university course.

You would round probably also be taking something similar to Mankiw's Macroeconomics and a maths unit at the same time.

Economics is interesting as far as it being a calculus for ideas as to how people act goes. Economics by and large deals with choice, the factors of that choice, and various ways in which people make choices in their particular circumstances.

What tradition of economics you want to focus on is another matter.

Marginalist economists by and large agree on enough of theory to be "the same", even if they disagree on proving it. Marginalist means those who take their economics from Jevons, Walras, or Menger who all got to the same very general conclusions at the same time. Marginalists focus on the equalization of price to preference across the economy, meeting an eventual equilibrium point. Information disperses through price changes and adjusts everyone's preferences across each other. You could reasonably start with any textbook or introduction like >>16813808 >>16813938 suggest before moving up. I myself am a fan of David Friedman. Steven Levitt is also good with how his Freakonomics series uses the tools of economics to puzzle out why people do what they do. Steven Landsburg and Peter Leeson does much the same and you could profit off of them.

Marxists take choice and the substrate of how a choice is reached to another level than the marginalists in ways I think they should take note as far as the propaganda section of the selling of their approach goes. Declaring the relative orthodoxy of the position as opposed to the more "ah, but this is what the marginalists leave out and get wrong"-style is more seductive to the common person. In any case, Marxists derive their analysis from their conception of how profit is attained as well as the means by which one is presented with the choices at hand as well as the wider societal implications and layers of the manner by which profit could be attained. Ernst Mandel might be your man as well as Richard Wolff on Marxian econ.

There are more traditions but these are the main two branches of Classical Economics

Read actual first year textbooks and not meme philosophy by right/left wing hucksters. Once you've gained a basic ground knowledge in orthodox economics is when you can decide to look into more niche schools of economic thought such as Real business cycles and neoKeynesian thought. Don't read austrians or postkeynesians any other such meme economics just stick with real life.

Memes aside, she went emo dyke after her friend committed suicide, 8ch (4chan wasn't really the one doing the major harassment, she conflated the two) was only a secondary reason.
>>16815020
Her being lesbian doesn't mean she has to act like a dyke. Besides, nearly all "lesbians" are only so out of circumstance (aka being ugly), hatred of men, or as a phase. Her reasoning for why she thought she was lesbian basically boiled down to she had a dream that she was with a girl (not even sexually) at a carnival. She was confused; before hand she identified as asexual and now there is a rumor that she admitted that she is now bisexual. Women aren't really consistent enough to be one way or the other.

Econ masters student here. This anon is correct.

The one thing which I would say is that as an academic discipline, economics is inherently given to having very strong orthodoxies (I would argue that this is because of the close proximity that economics has to political decision-making) but don't fall into the meme trap of reading Thomas Sowell and thinking that the neoclassicals are "correct". Economics is actually a very fluid field and relaxing certain assumptions radically changes the conclusions.

If you're serious about it, I would advise you to read broadly and don't be afraid to read outsider thoughts, and yes, that even includes guys like the Austrians and neo-Marxists.

Agatha said in a Q&A once that her greatest fear was being forgotten and she literally got monkey pawed because she wants to be forgotten now but there are still a sizeable amount of anons still obsessing over her (granted, obsessing over her old self, most have a major disdain towards how she is now) to this day.
Shouldn't have been so cute.
