“I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money.”

Do people who inherit money earn it? Do people who have assets and investments earn that money? Do people who rent property earn money? etc.

Workers do not become rich. People who own things are rich. Rich people become rich because other people work hard, and are underpaid.

Because I can artificially establish monopoly and keep you working for me for peanuts while I seize your surplus for myself? Yes, what stops me from imposing literal slavery upon you and enjoying the fruits of your labour, how dare you to demand fair wage for picking up cotton?

Paul Cockshott proposed in 1992 an automated planned economy with floating prices and wider integration of market mechanism into the plan. Also, even in the USSR there were pay differentials, you earned more if you were a skilled worker. The incentive to work harder and smarter remain, no one proposes literal 90% tax on your shit.

Can you point to a source of this? I'm interested to read about it.

It's the most popular contemporary book on far left economics on /leftypol/. This is not welfare state proposal and not heavy intervention in the market a la China but full blown planned economy minus the usual downsides of planned economy. I was socdem myself and disliked communists before reading it, he solved most of my issues with planned economy. You can read it online.

No, but the person who made that money in the first place did. If someone accrues generational wealth and wants to pass it down to provide financial security for their descendants they should be able to.

Not all wealth is acquired the "just" way. Royal descendants could become rich by reinvesting whatever they inherit but the capital in the first place was acquired through threat of use of force. Think of modern corrupt politicians and political dynasties passing, of nepotism and people exploiting loopholes in the law and passing down the illegal wealth. How many 2nd and 3rd world dictators ended up settling in 1st world? Even one of the Putin's daughters lives in the Netherlands, sure it would be much harder for her to move there if she were a daughter of an ordinary Russian and not corrupt politician
