How do you all pretend otherwise. I'm a new psychiatric nurse practitioner and seeing the academia to pharma pipeline, and the absolute control the industry has over academic peer reviewed research/conclusions is astounding. There is literally no such thing as academic freedom or independent research. Academia is fully at the service of the corporate world and uses the concept of intellectual freedom as a marketing tool for these corporations. They willingly, gladly lie and manipulate results about drugs and every single researcher is in on it.

Why would this not be true in any other field? Even in a field without money backing it, why would any ideas be allowed that hurt the university's bottom line? The Ivies and major privates are functionally hedge funds when you get down to it. Everything related to education is secondary.

So please tell me how edgy communists believe they can get a humanities education at a college and subvert the system when the system is supplying them with every single idea in their heads?

Bruh, you realize that the world is not black and white? Not everyone can be neatly categorized as either "nazi" or "communist". I fucking hate normies, but surprisingly even normies are less cringe and less pozzed than random extremist weirdos on the internet. Outside of places like pol and twitter, it's pretty uncommon to run into actual antifa trannies or QTard schizos. Normies are pretty annoying, but faggots like you actually have them beat. For once maybe the normies deserve a pat on the back.
Also game theory and social choice theory absolutely BTFO communists and libertarians.

The worst are retards who exist outside that system but suck down its effluvia, cargo-culting from the outside. They con themselves, thinking they're the true radicals, while holding the same opinions as the people inside the walls. This board is full of such people. One of them is a tripfag you love to hate.

The most powerful con this system has is convincing participants they're revolutionaries taking it down from the inside. This is the perfect cover for neoliberalism as it loots the infrastructure of civilization.

> So please tell me how edgy communists believe they can get a humanities education at a college and subvert the system when the system is supplying them with every single idea in their heads?

I know this post isn't about Harvard, but you put a picture of it so I'll tell you about it because I went there. There are very few communists at Harvard. Probably more than when I went there, but few. There are a lot of "theory" kids who do a bit of "reading Marx" as a lark, but they are a species of liberal in the end. The political spectrum is thin on the right (which everyone knows) but also thin on the far left. It's basically Pete Buttigiegs as far as the eye can see. Even the pro-Palestine activists I knew went on to work for big foundations. At Harvard, the communist left is a mirage.

The answer to your question is no one actually thinks that. Most people in academia are run off the mill liberals, and of the few who engage in radicalism, it's almost never orthodox Marxism, and even when it is, it's usually a drag thing. Everyone wants to be employable after graduation. You can do that after doing BLM; it's a lot harder if you were selling Trot newspapers.

The are real problems on college campuses (mostly idpol) but out and out communism is not one of them.

Research universities, too, are rapidly privatizing. Both public and private institutions now receive a shrinking portion of their overall funding from government sources. They are looking instead to private industry and other commercial activities to enhance their funding. Last summer, an investigation by the San Jose Mercury News found that one-third of Stanford University’s medical school administrators and department heads now have reported financial conflicts of interest related to their own research. Who you are and where your perspective comes from is all that interests me about this conversation. I want to know something about the person who espouses the views you do - that is aside from the question of whether you are even being honest, but even lies can be characteristic.
