Draw an author, others guess who it is. Last thread is dead as shit. Starting a new thread 'cause it was fun on both ends.

I REQUEST A DRAWING OF THOMAS PYNCHON AS BIG CHUNGUS. I REPEAT, I REQUEST A DRAWING OF THOMAS PYNCHON AS BIG CHUNGUS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIS TEETH, POSSIBLY WITH A CARROT HANGING OUT OF HIS MOUTH LIKE A PIECE OF STRAW.

What on earth were you reading him for if not historiographical reasons... he seems to me a fan-fiction writer of German history.
>The white light fell upon a face beautiful as that of Apollo, with laughing light-blue eyes; his fair hair was parted in the middle of his forehead into two long and flowing tresses, which fell right and left upon his shoulders. His mouth and nose, finely, almost softly chiselled, were of perfect form; the first down of a bright golden beard covered his pleasant lip and gently-dimpled chin. He wore only white garments--a war-mantle of fine wool, held up on the right shoulder by a clasp in the form of a griffin, and a Roman tunic of soft silk, both embroidered with a stripe of gold. White leather straps fastened the sandals to his feet, and reached, laced cross-wise, to his knees. Two broad gold rings encircled his naked and shining white arms. And as he stood reposing after his exertion, his right hand clasping a tall lance which served him both for staff and weapon, his left resting on his hip, looking down upon his slower companions, it seemed as if there had again entered the grey old temple some youthful godlike form of its happiest days.
It's cute fanfic though I guess... hmm.

He's very homoerotic in that distinctly turn of the 20th century, late-victorian, we love the body kind of way.

Also I had a picture to go with this that I felt really demonstrated that aesthetic ("Second Infantry Landing At Siboney" by Howard Chandler Christie) but it seems to be locked away in a really accursed archive. I swear I could access it five years ago but now I have to pay a subscription? Ludicrous.

Anyway, here is a Howard Chandler Christie poster from 1917 for you. He had some other, similar works you might enjoy more but I can't post them on a blue board.
