If you like nonfiction, I highly recommend reading the last viking: The Life of Roald Amundsen and Napoleon the Great. Last viking is about Roald Amundsen, the first explorer that to the middle of the south and north pole. Napoleon the great is also good. It’s amazing how they feel more in line with fiction then something that actually happened

You mean it’s the only book written this century that you have either read or liked.

Here are some good books, both fiction and non-fiction I have read and enjoyed:

Crucible of War: The Seven Years' War by Fred Anderson
The Bus Driver Who Wanted to be God and Other Stories by Etgar Keret
The Nimrod Flipout by Etgar Keret
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Ghost Wars and Directorate S by Steve Coll
The Cold War: A New History by John Gaddis
The Girl on the Fridge by Etgar Keret
Last Evenings on Earth by Roberto Bolano
Caesar: Life of a Colossus and Augustus by Adrian Goldsworthy
Against the Day by Pynchon
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami
The City and the City by China Mieville
Inherent Vice by Pynchon
Rome's Last Citizen by Rob Goodman
Bleeding Edge by Pynchon
The Corpse Exhibition and Other Stories by Hassan Blasim
A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James
Moonglow by Michael Chabon
African Kaiser by Robert Gaudi

I think there's better non-fiction so far than fiction, but I also haven't read that much fiction from this century to begin with.
