This book is an absolute joy to read, right up there with Rabelais and Cervantes.

Currently reading the intro to Unknown Masterpiece and already lined up l’Absolut before I dive into his novels.

Pic related (obviously including volume 2 as well). I like zoology and stories of exploration, especially in tropical and marine environments so it fits me well, but his anthropology is good as well. His concluding anthropology section is surprisingly Kaczynski-esque in its criticism of developing societies without proper adjustment socially.
Also “Men at Arms” but that was just fun pulp, not intellectually stimulating at all.

Villette by Charlotte Brontë, doubtlessly the most human of all the works from the Brontë sisters. So aesthetically beautiful, such a haunting melancholy intertwined with an innocent sweetness... really joyful. All the characters felt so human, so real; one of those book which really makes you forget you're reading a book.
