If I've read man and his symbols can I jump to the alchemy book?

>> No.16622745

If I had to rate the difficulty of Jung's books, Man & his Symbols is like 0.5/10. It's the most basic introduction to his work.

I wouldn't go to the alchemical books without reading at least one overview of Jung.

There are a few ones out there that are good: Jung's Map of the Soul, Ego and Archetype, On Jung.

I've read the man in search of a soul and it was mind blowing to me.
I'm gonna post Jung's chart btw

This is the chart I intend to follow. Forgotten Language arrived two weeks ago, I just haven't had a chance to open it up. My girlfriend lent me an Jungian overview book: "The Basic Writings of C.G. Jung."

Read most of it. When I jumped into the complexity of Psychology and Alchemy I wasn't fully prepared, but I was able to adapt by looking up and reading other articles.

I've read other Jungian work and enjoyed it too, particularly pic related.

I started with "The Essential Jung" and am now finishing "Symbols of Transformation." Think I might call it quits after this and move on to Adler

I've read that Fromm book before Jung and it was great.

Just as an introduction. Jung wrote it for lay people on purpose.

Loved the interpretation of Kafka's Trial in Fromm

Good to hear the chart corroborated; it's not often that an author chart starts you off with (or includes at all) works from other authors.
The book looks interesting regardless though, so I figured there was a low chance of being screwed by picking it up.

Ordered this the other day, can't wait.

it is good and worth a read if you are interesting in phycology, motiffs, sybolism, and the subconscious

I'm on Liber Novus right now. I may have jumped the gun it's quite difficult for me. Maybe I'm just dumb though.
