16608361 No.16608361 [Reply] [Original]

i want to find people to discuss literature and philosophy with, are there established group servers or any individuals wanting to drop discord? 19 year old F student here, favorite authors Nabokov (Invitation to Beheading is fav) and Kafka. I love discussing philosophy as well. post not appropriate to post on /soc/

I’m 23 F and since I graduated haven’t had anywhere to discuss literature. I don’t read philosophy much though. The book club always seems to pick something I read like 3 months before.

Well, if you scare off good people like that what do you think this site will be. OP, you are welcome here :)

I think a goodreads general would be a good idea, the conversation would be book-focused and not prone to the kind of derailing this site lends itself to.

Honestly anon just do it. The last /lit/ discord was full of faggots and underages but this can be avoided if you don't make the server 100% open to everybody. I am still a noob in literature, most "patrician" books I've read according to this board are Dubliners, Lolita and C&P, nothing much better than that. If a person with more reading experience and more experience on this board makes a server I'd sure join.

Nice. I did something similar on their AITA sub where I posted a story about a man complaining about his housewife not doing chores in the home. Then a month or so later I posted one that was the same story with the genders switched (and some minor changes to help not get picked up as a repeat).
I don't think I need to lay out what happened.

someone really should post a /lit/ discord server or make one, I have some questions or things I want to talk about in literature that doesn't deserve it's own thread.

it always veers towards the worst shit posting. I think the best you can do is put the link somewhere hard to see, make it expire quickly, and be liberal with kicking people out. If someone feels like going through those hoops I'd like to join in, but I guess thats everybodies position
