Thanks.

I sense there are a handful of people here who are really educated, who keep the conversation decent and constructive, and interact with the dim witted masses of half-educated twits like me. I don't know who you are or why you waste time here, but I appreciate you. I learned a lot in my brief time messing up your board.

You can thank them by making a thread about the book you're reading instead of an off topic one like this

This and a good one with broad applications not necessarily political. Everyone learns from everyone on this board

Ur welcome.
I like to think the discourse will be good again, I feel like it has improved slightly since last month and maybe this trend will continue as more posers get BTFO. It's also been encouraging for me, sometimes when I read a really loathsome post I get a feeling that I need to bring some light into the world by reading and writing more.

If you look at anonymity and only see an opportunity to be mean, what's the point? Don't get me wrong, I've been there. I've been here for long enough. But at this point I look at 4ch and see a place completely free of all the social stratification and the dominance games that characterize every single other avenue which can support serious discussion. Here, there are only ideas. Your degree doesn't matter, how much money you make is irrelevant. On /lit/ you can choose every time you post to treat it as an unironic, classical forum where Ideas are the only things that matter. Complete social anonymity is possibly the purest canvas possible for the genuine exchange of ideas -- not for personal gain, political agenda, but for the sake of the Idea itself, for the joy of it. That's the way I choose to try to interact with 4chan, because the clock is ticking and there's just too much I want to understand before I die. If I can teach, great. If I can learn, amazing.
