It is 10 HOURS of non-stop reading at best if you read really-really fast, most people can't find the time and desire to watch an average 1 hour long action movie and you propose instead to spend 10 hours reading something that you could find repulsive?

I found Taipei to be interesting in the beginning, but the theme and style got old reall quick. However, the book in my opinion picked up pace once the action shifts to Taiwan. I remember those parts rather vividly and enjoyed them a lot.
If nothing else, it‘s an interesting description of an interesting place. Though the first part in the US is dull at times, it‘s really not that long of a book and I recommend reading it!
