Which one is better written, Quran or Bible? Which has the better stories? Which should I start?

Your bias is showing.

Start with the old testament

New testament is much more readable and gets to the point.

>> No.16589105

>>16589103
Depends on the translation, and the old testament had more interesting stories.

>> No.16589113

>>16589039
It's the Bible. Start with the Old. It's more aesthetically pleasing and sets the scene.
>>16589103
You can't truly understand the New without the Old.

>> No.16589160

I second starting with the Old Testament. But you can skip Leviticus.

Just do it in temporal sequence. Remember to read the key though (pic related).

not really, its got some good meaningful stuff. if ur christian read surah maryam, is insightful

>> No.16589494

Obviously the Bible, even if its just for a chronological sake

Honestly read Quran first, much easier, simpler read for lower IQ and no real spiritual message from God behind it other than what it directly says. Then NT, then OT.
>if big brain then just read OT > NT >Quran or skip Quran altogether you aren't missing anything

The Quran Constantly contradicts itself

>> No.16589541

Any non-religious/atheist anon who read them both? Which was more interesting for you? Which made more sense?
By Holy Bible I mean OT+NT together

>> No.16589557

in general
>bible

in arabic
>qur'an

>Which has the better stories?
qur'an seems to be more fun to read in terms of content and especially as an arabic speaker given its poetic style, however the bible is much more well written and carved out. Its also worth noting that qur'an repeats biblical stories from a different angle so it loses out on originality.

>> No.16589598

>>16589541
>Which was more interesting for you?
the qur'an mostly, but parts of the bible really outdoes the qur'an.

Which made more sense?
hard one to pin down really, both make more sense in certain parts and less in others. Given the bible is larger than the qur'an and written over a longer time period, it would makes much less sense overall but the NT seems to be more consistent than the qur'an.

>Stories
The Quran assumes you already know the relevant stories. It makes allusion to the stories of Jesus and the Old Testament prophets, but there's practically no narrative of any kind in the Quran.

I am muslim and read like 1/3 of the quran but it is way too boring. I read it together with Ibn Kathir's tafsir, so I could actually understand what was going on. If you read it without commentary, you will stop after 5 pages.

I want to start reading it again some day, although it makes me very tired and sleepy.

Definitely The Bible, a book translated across a few languages within the IE family a far easier to read than something translated from Arabic, which has completely different syntax.

There's something called rereading. Yes you don't get the signifigance without OT, but for a good place to start its the NT.

Just like most modern Christians
