Kazuo Ishiguro (7)
Flannery o'Connor (4)
JD Salinger (4)

I've read all but 1 book for Haruki Murakami, at least for his translated works. I've read all of Asimov's sci-fi works, apart from Nemesis. Read a lot of W Somerset Maugham.

I wish I'd read more complete works of authors...although I don't know why this matters. Maybe it doesn't.

>> No.1655602

Vonnegut and Auster for me....that's about 35 books.

I call bull crap. No way you read over 500 books by Asimov.

>> No.1655616

Really? Vonnegut and Auster are solid.

Well, first of all, I said I've read most of his sci-fi, not everything he's written. Secondly, I've seen that 500 number a bunch of times, and it makes no sense. I'm okay with including his science and non-science non-fiction, but it basically also includes various essays, as well as INDIVIDUAL short stories.

Were these any good?
Or did you not read anything under his pseudonym?

I'm told that those are more fantasy than sci-fi, which is presumably why he wrote them under a psuedonym. I thought about reading them, but couldn't really be bothered.

The most I've read from one author would have to be Brian Jacques.
Redwall (1986)
Mossflower (1988)
Mattimeo (1989)
Mariel of Redwall (1991)
Salamandastron (1992)
Martin the Warrior (1993)
The Bellmaker (1994)
Outcast of Redwall (1995)
The Pearls of Lutra (1996)
The Long Patrol (1997)
Marlfox (1998)
The Legend of Luke (1999)
Lord Brocktree (2000)
The Taggerung (2001)
Triss (2002)

Or when I was a kid, I used to read tons of books by Gary Paulsen.

>> No.1655660

Read everything by Pynchon, including letters. Vineland and Slow Learner are a pile of piss.

>> No.1655663

I've read all of HP Lovecraft's fiction stories, but I haven't touched his poetry or essays.

>> No.1655682

Harper Lee.

don't you mean Truman Capote?
Harper Lee never wrote anything in her life

>> No.1655749

Ishiguro, O'Connor, Garcia Marquez, William Faulkner, Jonathan Swift, Zadie Smith, Herman Melville, Franz Kafka, Junot Diaz. Probably a couple other newer writers I'm forgetting. All of Pynchon except for Inherent Vice. Slow Learner sucked.

John Kennedy Toole

Also I may have read all of Kafka.

I've read all of Conrad's major novels and am working my way through Nabokov (in translation where necessary).

Wait, no on the Melville.
