Here's what I currently have on my list

Pimp: The Story of My Life by Iceberg Slim

Confessions by Kanae Minato

Stoner by John Williams

I Am a Cat by Natsume Sōseki

The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima

The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
I mostly enjoy reading sad books with bad endings things like No Longer Human and I enjoy Japanese authors. I did some research and these seem to be interesting. I also enjoy Ryu and Haruki Murakami books but I have most of theirs already. Anything you think I should get? I also enjoy the Stoic philosophy so anything to really do with that is probably up my ally..

Why are pimps afforded legal protection? I should be able to beat or kill them if I want to.

The pearl was a stupid book. All that work for nothing. Only upside is its small enough to read as a snac size

The guy asked for a sad book with a bad ending, The Pearl gives you that in spades. I don't think it was a stupid book, it accomplished what it set out to do, it's certainly far from my favorite book, or even my favorite work of Steinbeck's, but I still think it's worth reading.

Pimp was actually hilarious.

Stoner was pretty boring but I finished it somehow.

I actually probably read Pimp when I was like 19. I read Stoner at age 30 and it's fucking boring.

Pimp is based, Stoner is the best of the list.
