I felt like a kid again. I can’t believe the reluctance I had to try this.

Why would I want to feel like a kid again?

Problem for me is a backlog of good podcasts so I never get to downloading an audiobook

Good for novels and narratives, less good for anything else. Although listening to Utopia by Thomas More was pretty comfy

About time they moved towards streaming, even if it is only a few titles for now. Wish they would just fucking get rid of the retard credits system and go whole hog on streaming like Spotify does.

They don't even seem to care about how exploitable that shit is.
>refund audibooks
>get credit
>refunded too many books in one month
>can't refund anymore
>call audible and ask for more refunds
>get more credits

They might as well switch to pure streaming if they're going to let it be that exploitable.

Nah i dont like it. I always feel asleep listening to audio books. I always end up confused. Something that never happens with printed text.

>> No.16522272

i had an aversion to audiobooks at first too

i dont like listening to fiction because i hate people trying to do all the voices, but for nonfiction its like, i retain the information just as well as if id read the book
i spend a lot of time in the car and walking around outside for work so its great

i just torrent the books though fuck amazon

Does anyone know a site where I can pirate high quality audio books?

Yeah man, I use it to listen to current buzz novels or self-help books so I don't have to embarrass myself by having them on my shelves.

Literally doesn't have any good books and it's too expensive.

Probably has something to do with rights/licensing that Amazon actually doesn't give a shit about, so they just let people exploit it and toss them credits out the backdoor after they reclaim whatever they'd paid the 'publishers' under the guise of refunds (maybe even have an agreement that they pay publishers a flat discounted rate or nothing if books are claimed on credit.) The $15 bucks a month is probably plenty to profit off of for Amazon (if even less can make Spotify a multi billion dollar company.)

Listening to Dune currently. It's fully voiced acted and has background music. So fun.

yes you feel like a kid again because you're a brain dead child who needs the teacher to read him a story out loud

It does though, credits are cheaper than most books and you can seemingly refund anything you want and go buy another book over and over again. Its not perfect but your take on it is just wrong.
