there's no point winning friends or influencing anyone, there's a global pandemic, life is shut down, civil war approaches, at this point you just have to lift weights, consume lots of nutrient-dense calories, and learn how to shoot and clean a long gun

We went to an Applebees. The appetizer was decent. Otherwise, a normal American setting. We returned. There is sadly more ukelele. My friends are about to smoke marijuana. Though I'm worried about relapse, I am so desperate to be high. I am addicted. That is fashionable, after all. STOP.
I struggled with playing Pancho and Lefty by Merle Haggard via the Google home assistant. I also ingested marijuana after promising I never would again. I wonder if I'll go psychotic. I doubt it. At least no more psychotic than anyone who wants to write a book. My thoughts are under tighter editing – or looser – more correctly: altered.
The Merle is playing now. I love this song. Its sad, full of action, a ballad and an overture of sorts. I feel the blackness in my lungs from cigarettes. I now want to go dip. (Am I David now?). An unfinished beer sits on the kitchen table that is mine but will never be touched again. I hope to let it slip away into the next night or the next.

it's a legitimate technique to remember someone's name though
it's fine to recognize the manipulation value but also it's a genuine sign of respect to make efforts to remember surely

Anyways, >>16489489, please listen to me. That it's really related to this thread.
I went to Applebees a while ago; you know, Applebees?
Well anyways there was an insane number of people there, and I couldn't get in.
Then, I looked at the banner hanging from the ceiling, and it had "$1.50 off" written on it.
Oh, the stupidity. Those idiots.
You, don't come to Applebees just because it's $1.50 off, fool.
It's only $1.50, 1 DOLLAR 5-0 CENTS for crying out loud.
There're even entire families here. Family of 4, all out for some Applebees, huh? How fucking nice.
"Alright, daddy's gonna order the extra-large." God I can't bear to watch.
You people, I'll give you $1.50 if you get out of those seats.
Applebees should be a bloody place.
That tense atmosphere, where two guys on opposite sides of the U-shaped table can start a fight at any time,
the stab-or-be-stabbed mentality, that's what's great about this place.
Women and children should screw off and stay home.
Anyways, I was about to start eating, and then the bastard beside me goes "extra-large, with extra appetizer."
Who in the world orders extra appetizer nowadays, you moron?
I want to ask him, "do you REALLY want to eat it with extra appetizer?"
I want to interrogate him. I want to interrogate him for roughly an hour.
Are you sure you don't just want to try saying "extra appetizer"?
Coming from an Applebees veteran such as myself, the latest trend among us vets is this, marijuana.
That's right, marijuana. This is the vet's way of eating.
Marijuana means more relapse than appetizer. But on the other hand the price is a tad higher. This is the key.
And then, it's delicious. This is unbeatable.
However, if you order this then there is danger that you'll be marked by the employees from next time on; it's a double-edged sword.
I can't recommend it to amateurs.
What this all really means, though, is that you, >>16489489, should just stick with today's special.

If you’re actually autistic, yes. I mean that sincerely, neurotypical people will probably just sound like salesmen from 80 years ago if they internalized all the advice in the book. Autistic people, however, might need some of these things spelled out to them to understand subtle aspects of interpersonal communication that they don’t get. Just don’t go all out on the faking interests stuff, people will know you’re fake.

I never understood the hype behind this book. It's core messages are intuitive to anyone >30 IQ, and the premise of the book lends itself to be understood that unless you're going to memorize the "rules", the book holds little value. Its hardly even an interesting read. Belongs in the trash alongside The 48 Laws of Power.

I don't want to go on a living in a society rant, but I have met several faggots in my life (business or not) that acted like that with me and I found it insufferable.
Points like 7 and 20 I usually consider negatively, other like 16 or God forbid 25 make by blood boil.

Correct take. I have some mild autistic spectrum symptoms and the book gives you tons of good pointers as to "obvious social cues" you typically don't know. It's like common sense that's worded so it's easier once it's said if you lack interpersonal communication skills.

I 100% prefer being told an order rather than have a friend, superior or client meander with implications in order to "make me feel as if I really wanted to do X all along".
I guess I value clarity far above courtesy. Besides, it is always a less efficient form of communication. It is begging for misunderstanding, disappointment and avoidable reworks. I'd even argue about the courtesy aspect of the convoluted way. You wouldn't use it without thinking the other party is easily led without noticing it. I realize I'm in the minority in this preference so the book is correct to statistically influence people. We just live in a society.

Yes, but following this list every day for your whole life will just make you the equivalent of the evil villain's servant that says, "Yes, sire. Very good idea. You have always been a master at foresight." Also, this list isn't a valuable method for cases when you want a passionate connection. Real relationships are give and take while this list is full of give. Yeah, for day to day interactions, this is an excellent guide. A lot of people call it out of manipulative tactics, but I can't disagree with then either. I have used many of these to get ahead while others bite the dust. This is a definitive list for anyone that wants to gain favor.

You think to much about it. I don't even do it to influence people, it's just to ingrained in me that I say "can you do that?" rather than "do it". Of course there are also situations for latter but in most casual situations I automatically ask the question and I think most people are the same.
