How do I become a Holy Fool? I don't wanna just be homeless and depend on charity. What is the best way to become, and be seen as being, blessed?

>in;b4 Divinity school
Literally penniless. Besides I want to worship directly. I thought being poorer made one closer to God. I'm a virgin if that helps.

I don't know about living in the woods. I would love to build my own personal chapel in the woods. I doubt it would be vain of me to paint the icons myself.

Why would someone want to become a holy fool if he isn't ready to make the sacrifices in order to become a holy fool?

>> No.16434116

Okay, it’s become quite obvious that OP will not accomplish this “holy fool” thing.

Slings and arrows. Did Christ Himself not endure ridicule and abuse from the masses? Do Holy Fools not imitate Christ more faithfully than even the Pope? The Franciscans seemed to have got pretty far. Surely it's something that can catch on, as it has before.

I dunno. I am a believer in God, but not a Christian. And I struggle with the idea that "becoming poor to reach God" and that sort of thing is desirable. He gave me greed, ambition, and lust; I'm going to use those tools.

the eremitic life is based on deprivation. John the Baptist ate grasshoppers and wild grass. You want the outcomes without income.

I'm not Jewish, but I do think Jewish culture and their approach to life, power, and politics are things to be admired and emulated (at least in some aspects, I'm not cool with circumcision and the like).

It's a topic of cognitive dissonance that's been brewing within me for a while. I know an enlightened person wouldn't be under the influence of things like anger, lust, greed, pride, and attachment, but... I like being under the influence of these things.

>What do you agree with
I agree with the ditheism of Zoroastrianism. The Doubt-Removing Exposition of Mardānfarrox and the beginning of Bundashihn do a good job of capturing my views. I am not fond of monotheism. I think there's something like two "transcendent orbs of qualia" in conflict. One is defined by righteousness, wholesomeness, warmness, and good-will whereas the other is malevolence, chaos, ill-will, and so forth. It maps onto the mind and is represented as intentions. The wise align themselves with the omnibenevolent qualia, which is Spenta Mainyu. One way to experience Spenta Mainyu is via creating artwork with righteous intention.
>what has to be let go,
Zoroastrianism during Sassanian era allowed people to convert, but the priestly caste was based on hereditary and paternal lineage. I am fine with this because I do believe genetic memory may exist, but I think modern Parsi ethnocentricism is druj. They are also very uninspired and dislike anything that goes against strict orthodoxy. Sometimes I wonder whether they still uphold the rituals of xwedodah (sanctified incest) and Barashnûm (barbaric purification ritual). I reject both of those as outdated and misguided.
>what do you dispute
I dislike the romanticism of a lot Iranians and Parsi who use Zoroastrianism for nationalist purposes. They ignore the dark side of the tradition too, which should be acknowledged while reformed. Stuff like killing cats because they were viewed as creatures of Ahriman should be rejected. Superstitions revolving around black cats probably came from Sassanids, and I consider it misguided.
>why are the Parsi an issue
I dislike their narcissism. They behave like Talmudist Jews. Moreover, they seem to lack intelligence and ability to evolve in interesting ways. They have a tendency towards dishonesty.
>why do you like the Celts in particular
I watched a nice eco-documentary, which I can share if interested, showing how well Celts connected with trees and the forests. Many of them were able to learn about the communities of trees which modern science has begun to unveil. Their runes were interesting. I also like the Celtic influences on Arthurian tales.

Listen to these based anons, OP. Becoming a fool for Christ cannot be a goal if you want to be genuine. If you want to be seen as holy, there are easier ways to do it, but some people will see through your bullshit.
If you want to worship directly, just pray every day, pray as much as you can, think good thoughts, and do good deeds. But know that the closer you get to God, the devil will be more interested in corrupting your soul. And you can end up being a rich cult leader that will be damned to hell.
