Every Kzin is a dude though, aside from one of the short stories (which is great)

Try the Destroyermen series. WW2 destroyer crew gets sent back in time to island of topless cat-people (emphasis on topless), fight lizards and Japanese (and are super racist) while introducing technology. Author is fucking nuts and forwards feature old Navy vets going "this is great! Keep it up!"
