Can someone please tell me what the fuck this guy has been doing for the past 9 years? It seriously took him 9 years to write this crime against science fiction? Seriously, try to read a single chapter of this shit and tell me it deserves the "not suspicious at all!" universal acclaim it's getting.
What doesn't this 36 year old motherfucker do something with his life other than write shitty unedited fiction?

*why doesn't

Ah, it's the dude who copy-pasted Star Wars into the Lord of the Rings! I loved his books as a wee lad, but I realized how much he ripped off other works when I got older.

Is it that bad? I've heard some good things about it, mainly that he's spent the last 9 years doing scientific research for it

Means fuck all, wth. Utter waste of time when the end result is this embarrassing. Why not spend less than half that time coming up with a decent plot, and focusing less on the pointless biological minutiae of alien squid.

>9 years of scientific research
Yeah that alone is enough for me to think that it's going to be pretty bad. Being scientifically accurate isn't at all what makes a scifi novel any good

I haven't finished the first chapter. Will they fuck?

He was too busy fucking his sister and writing shitty short stories.
