If you are very concerned with this, you will probably feel that it is low brow.

Truthfully, it is very entertaining and doesn't require a lot from you. The worldbuilding is surprisingly tight despite its absurdity.

The whole enterprise is roughly Hitchhiker's Guide tier, imo.

Iit's just the right amount of escapism and entertainment a serious man should let himself have. Also most of discworld is better than 99% of actual fantasy novels that are out there.

When I was a little kid me and my fat brother had a PS1 with only two games, one was Discworld point and click adventure and the other was a bicycle and skateboard game where you could ick and punch other people off the road. We were too young to play either properly so we would alternate all night between playing the bicycle game like retards, and not understand how to build up speed or any of the bullshit coasting or wind resistance mechanics so all we did was try to beat as many other riders to death at the beginning of the race as possible, and then the Discworld game where we also didn't know what to do so we would click the wrong things until he got mad. We would get mad too because we couldn't even get out of the first fucking few areas. The first room and some shop are still burned into my brain from that game because we probably spent hours trying to get past them and never did. When we finally got sick of him telling jokes we didn;t get we would go back to the bicycle game and get frustrated at that again too. To this day me and my brother are still retards. When we got Earthworm Jim things got much better.
