I mean you're just asking for it at that point. What the fuck did you expect?

>> No.16391637

women are the majority of readers. it makes sense that women would like the shit other women like and write.

>> No.16391687

why are you looking up novels from 2020.
they are literally all unknown quantities and bound to be shit since they've only just been read by "critics".

have you tried forming your own opinion?

>> No.16391699

These sorts of things are always astroturfed by people who think by pretending that women or blacks are good writers, women and blacks will actually become good writers.

Rule nr 1 of /lit/: Never read an author who is still alive.

Calm down, slut. Your trash fanfic will probably get published if you pretend to be black or something

Got it, time to kill Thomas Pynchon.

Wrong. The reality is that publishing houses and editorial staffs are full of third wave feminists. It’s just idpol.

Some poor nigga has to read them and find out which ones are good

I remember when Zoe Quinn was on some list somewhere as someone of note for something. I can't remember the details, just that she was being lauded for who she is and what she had done. I think it was right around the time that she released her book.

I suddenly realized that some talent manager at the company that published her book probably paid for her to be included on this list as a marketing thing.

And then I got mad. Also, it's ironic given the original "dishonest journalism" shit behind gamergate in the first place AND THEY NEVER LEARNED.

>years not even over
>even of the books that are out, most people haven't read them
>the only person close to being qualified to approximate an answer like this is someone like Steve Donoghue who skims anyway
Just wait for DeLillo's new novel to drop in a few weeks.

I'm reposting my Barnes and Noble story, this happened two weeks ago:

>be me get recs for interesting authors and books here, download PDFs and listen to audio books and even get some from Amazon
>get fairy well versed in Philosophy and am generally now able to enjoy reading since government schooling ruined that for me by forcefeeding me horribly uninteresting garbage.
>decide to drop my barnes & noble, haven't been there since I was a kid
>as I'm driving up to to the parking lot for a place to park see "BLACK LIVES MATTER!" in writing on the back of some shitty SUV takes my attention and disgust
>slam on my breaks
>almost hit an old woman cause I was distracted
>roll down my window and apologize
>park
>get out of my car
>halfway to the entrance and I realize I forgot my mask and they'll freak out and call the cops if I don't have it
>get mask
>lets try this again
>see some disgusting faggot with a scarf, glasses and a latte walking up to the entrance
>enter
>it's all women
>not a single male
>look at books surrounding me
>all complete trash
>expecting some sort of Philosophy or history section
>nothing but poppy garbage from the last five years
>quickly stroll through the aisles looking for a decent section
>literally all garbage
>find "religion"
>"living under jihad"
>"the diary of anne frank"
>"how Judaism built america"
>"st Augustine's life lessons"
>"anne of green gables"
>"Hitler's religion: twisted beliefs of the third reich"
>"pride and prejudice"
>nope out and try again
>get to the back
>are you fucking kidding me
>an entire kids toy section decked out with legos and everything
>start backing away
>turn around
>AN ENTIRE FUCKING WALL OF FUNKO POP DOLLS THIRTY FEET LONG
>AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
>make straight for the exit
>apparently they have some cafe where faggots can drink their lattes
>get to my car
>open /lit/ to calm myself, browse for 10 minutes
>go get some bacon and fill up gas
>go home.

Holy shit, I thought reading was supposed to make people smart and appeal to smart people. Is this really the best our society can do in the name of books and literature?

once in a while I recommend new releases here, from both male and female authors, mostly unknown, but I get either no or negative response 9 times out of 10

books are a medium just like any other, and parallel to how the ratio of good movies to horrid pop-culture cash grabs is one to a thousand at least, most of books since reading became accessible to a wide audience have been, well - what you saw.

Why would you think that? I think you took cartoons a little too serious as a kid.

Stop playing video games and start supporting male authors you do like

>> No.16394778

>>16394742
I will never catch up to support living authors as I started chronological process to consume every interesting work since the first century. Little did I know, there is a lot of interesting stuff to go through and the more I advance the slower it gets to reach our time.

Is there really a single novel worth reading that is post WW2?
I really fucking doubt it.

I don't even bother reading modern lit. It's nothing but modern neurosis over race, sex, gender, etc.

different case. OP searched "best novel", not "<gender> best novel".
