Sorry, but this is the best thread for a diary post desu. maybe some of you will read and sympathize, or at least understand. I won't lie and pretend thats not what I'm after. Everyone wants to be understood by others at some level.

I have struggled with identity issues my whole life. The race charts really hit me hard. My background is super mixed - my great grandfathers were some of the first Brits to colonize India, and married Indian women. My whole mothers side is mixed - half brit half indian, marrying eachother for generations. They are considered Asian in Britain and White in India.

My mom married my Dad who is white. I am three quarters white. I struggled with identity, along with being socially awkward. I'm not proud to admit this, but when I was a teen I joined a White Nationalist organization. I left because I started getting a better grip on my life, building a better social circle etc.

Ironically, as I got older I became more white. Basically everyone now considers me white, like an Italian or Spanish. In Italy and Spain people would approach me for directions in Spanish when I was with my family (it got a little hilarious)

Anyways, I started getting really connected with my Indian side. I consider myself Hindu, don't eat beef, and can hold an okay conversation in Hindi. Most importantly, I got a gf thats Indian.

Sometimes though, I feel that I'm being a fetishized. Like, as a mix. I am good looking, fit, (a manlet, sadly), but I am also, imo smart, kind and funny. My gf has said things that really stung.
