Not joking, but a few semesters ago I literally had to read about 300-400 pages a day just to keep up with my readings. Literally spent 4-7 hours reading a day. It was brutal.

Most I've read in a day was the first part of Faust. Something like 200 pages + commentary.

Graduate seminar in “political culture” several years ago at Stanford had about 300 pages a day of assigned reading in between the weeks. Whether you did it or not was another question—but it was assigned, and you were held accountable.
Add that to 3 other seminars, or 2 other seminars and a TA assignment, and 700 a day is not outside the margin of the upper echelon.

To make it at the tippy top you gotta put in the time, whether investment banking or graduate reading.

OP is a seething little pleb who can’t imagine a world outside his own.

This.
I read War and Peace this morning before rewarding myself with My Hero Academia. This afternoon I compared the English and Chinese versions of In Search of Lost Time to the original. And tonight I will transcribe at least 4 chapters of the Old Testament.

Different guy than he was before. You know, people grow. People learn from their experiences. People change. OP may physically be identical, yet his soul keeps growing. He's not the same man he was yesterday, let alone three posts ago. I trust OP, he seems to be a nice buddy. A decent human being. A kind friend. Coomer? Maybe, but I can't blame his faults. He might be still looking for someone or something. His life might be in deep need of Buddha. Maybe he's worrying about all of us here, in this cozy home we like to call /lit/. This place is magical, it calls us, and we unite in here. Yes, we disagree. Yes, we fight sometimes. Yes, that's us, that's human nature. We like to defend our causes, we like to feel like we're dealing with deep, terrifying subjects. And fight those who oppose us in our search for meaning, our desire of truth, that burning need of knowledge. Yet sometimes we find out, they were not our enemies, but brave comrades trying to achive as much. We need it. We need the heat of passion, we need to lurk in our darkest thoughts, in our unexplored paths of consciousness, facing terror itself as we realize how little we know about us. Not going to lie anon, you may not find the answer you're looking for, but let me tell you, you'll enjoy the thrill of this amazing ride. Cum and die.

Woke up this morning and read the complete works of Plato while getting ready for work
Read The Divine Comedy during my lunch break
Gonna read Anna Karenina and The Brothers Karamazov when I get home
Overall it's been a pretty light day

In the span of time I spent writing this post, I also managed to reread the Meme Quartet (Ulysses, GR, IJ and 2666) for the fifth time today, as well as In Search of Lost Time, Zettels Traum, W&P, The Three Holy Abrahamic Books, The four chinese classical novels, and the entirety of Africa's literary output in recorded history. This took me about 20 seconds.
Thank G*d (PBUH) for Übermensch strabismus.

Pretty impressive... if you’re a 12 year old.
If you’re an adult this is fucking pathetic. Before I even finished reading your post I read, and committed to memory, every single book ever written in human history. It’s tough being the only intelligent poster on /lit/.

You know he's lying, right? 200 pages is too much even for a student from Harvard! I read more than most people, I've read 35 pages of Marcus Aurelius today. I like to apply philosophy to my daily life. I admit this forum is a little weird.

I merely look at the covers of the books and then I merge all of their implied stories into one mega novel which I play out entirely in my mind over the course of a couple weeks, but I can see how you need to read regular books if you're sub 300 IQ.

A little weird is an understatement. I "effort post" too much. Most of the time there can be an elegant back-and-forth exchange. Most of the time some of the more rambunctious anons will retort in hysterics or obscenities (if at all) all without disassembling and critiquing the argument (philosophic) or interacting with the observation and extensions (literary). Of course - on the flip side - I am guilty of every bit of the aforementioned as well! Let's chalk it up to mood. And then extend an anonymous filter to it. And then let's agree that the world as the substrate is weird. Hence this conjumbled, uncouth forum that operates on a set of unwritten rules... even though it doesn't have to... all because our human condition(ing). But none of this is literary. I read about 15 pages of Greek Geography after lunch. :3 Might read some of this bibliography of electromagnetism later after dinner (I'm too scared or midwitty to start the more 'rigorous' book I picked up in conjunction with it)
