Legend of the galactic heroes. It’s based off an 8 novel series and has all the traditional themes of classic literature mixed in with all the elements of classic science fiction. It has hundreds of characters, interweaving story arch’s, character depth, and philosophy over the span of like 120 episodes. Any other suggestions are generally /a/ cope.

Easily LoGH, but I did enjoy Death Note. LoGH is the only anime I can consider good without all the gay baggage of anime.

But knowing /lit/ they'll probably choose something like Neon Genesis Evenagelion, or Cowboy Bebop. Jin-Roh was also good.

Satoshi Kon has some intellectual backbone but other than Eva I cant cite any anime as having anymore than a vague glimpse at literature (granted that there are some gems out there). Anime isnt much more than a fetish parade at this point in time. Old vidya has more lit background.

Why must there exist so many spoilers for the danganronpa series on the internet? I mean seriously, I've only looked up a present guide and an item chart, but I already knew junko to be the mastermind, that chiaki is probably the traitor and that Mikan was most likely in a homosexual relationship with junko; I also think that the D1 cast may come back in V3 and that both kyoko and hiro are going to die. It seriously sucks how quick all of that happened(even though I've been finishing the first two in pretty much 5 days)
