Why do normies like this book so much? It's highly rated (4.7-4.9) on multiple platforms.

It's just a series of average short stories that go nowhere. The characters are generic, the plot is drawn out, and the action is meh. Read it years ago and all I remember is the ending because you know.

It's fun? It's written by Stephen King. Easy mindless reading for the masses.

I personally felt the supernatural turn things took really dampened my enjoyment of the book. But still a fun read
