Not a Christcuck but I find the Orthodox Study Bible to be really good. Obviously its Orthodox so you'll get their take on things but from what I can gather most Christians agree on the fundamentals.

In order of preference:
1. The Didache Bible (or any RSV-2CE version)
2. The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha
3. A New English Translation of the Septuagint + DB Hart's New Testament

Id avoid the apocrypha for the first read since its more difficult

Incorrect
The answer is the 1560 geneva (i prefer facsimile)
If you have difficulty reading it go fuck yourself
I find the prose is warmer and more english throughout than the kjv which feels more foreign, which was its explicit purpose in publication, to recognize english as a literary language.

The Orthodox study bible annotations are very useful to understand the OT.
I always recommend it to people who want to read and understand the Bible.
Too many marcionists are created because people don't get the OT, and no one can explain it to them.

>due to stated bias
You obviously won't find an "unbiased" version of the bible.
>>16345587
Just go to your nearest church and buy a bible there, don't get bogged down before even reading the book.

The Marcionites were absolutely correct about the Old Testament. Where they erred was in honoring Paul.

I cant personally vouch for the osb since ive never read it but i do highly advocate for an advanced knowledge of the ot before the nt.
Marcionism is bs, that very jealous God was jealous out of the love his son exemplified

Ill admit it started as such
Used the kjv for 3 years or so, and really THATS contrarian as it is since most church bodies use liberal translations niv esv etc
I got the geneva because i was worried about the baconian influence on the ljv and the suspect rosicrucian/occult ties
Ive since researched it more and theres less suspicion but now i just find the geneva translation truly charming and heartwarming, in a sense i cannot truly convey enough

Recent RSV editions > ESV > NASB > ASV and ERV > KJV > Douay–Rheims > NRSV > NIV

Less popular translations like the OSB would probably near the KJV due to being derived from it, while I'd honestly consider Jerusalem translations to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

Oh no, orthodox are something completely different from what you think is Christianity. Vastly different definitions of sin, different look at why Jesus died and was resurrected, heaven and hell... pretty much everything is different.

Get an edition with the deuterocanonical books. You don't want an incomplete Bible. I have no opinion on English translations.
