the only good thing about that book is the intro. this is the French intellectual of textbooks: there’s still example problems to this day that remain either unsolved or wholly ambiguously solved, and none of them are worth the effort. This is like recommending spivak over Morris Kline or that you should read a 3000 page consisting of the entire Plato-Aristotle canon before reading modern philosophy. It’s just not true and anybody suggesting this to you hasn’t read it themselves all the way through
