From what I understand, some tumblr/reddit types started making fan art of the various political compass personalities that he portrays in his videos. These started to get really popular, and drew more people to his channel. But because they were introduced to the fan art first, the audience, by natural inclination, started to nudge him more in the direction of pandering and playing into his personalities and their "characters" and "relationships" moreso than anything else. He's not a bad YouTuber necessarily, but if you see genuinely him as an authority on ANYTHING, neck yourself.
