If you don't like to read don't bother, it's not that important in the modern world. Most non-recreational readers now are just retarded pseuds anyway.

literature is the only thing i care about. i think about it all day at work. then i come home and every time i am filled with rage at how boring reading is. writing is easier for me, i write for at least 2 hours a day. but reading is actually more fulfilling.

You massive contradicting bitch, decide if you like reading or hate it. How is it fulfilling when you get angry and it is boring? How do you think all day about it when you don't even like it? I hate you so much.

Did you try listening to music while reading? Not songs with lyrics, stuff like cello, piano or classical music. Also put on a temporizer for... i dont know 30 minutes and read until it rings,in my case focus is easily achievable this way.

You're incredibly based, OP. It takes guts to make a thread like this. People rarely admit it to themselves and even less to others, but reading is a boring, tiresome and difficult activity. There's a brief grace period, or honeymoon, when one first learns to enjoy the act of reading, but eventually this dissipates and the act becomes boring again. The point about reading though, and what distinguishes it from other forms of more passive entertainment, is that it is sado-masochistic. You have to learn to enjoy the pain, and simply study the books rather than enjoy them. Once you stop worrying and reflecting about the pleasure that you're getting from the activity, then eventually you and you will begin to enjoy it again. As soon as you become conscious of the enjoyment, you will lose it and the reading will become terribly hard work again. Repeat this cycle ad infinitum. Imagine Sisyphus happy.
