The second book is atrocious, literally two guys and a girl in an island talking, talking, talking and talking. Out of the Silent Planet was so good, it's a shame.

Im liking it a lot. More straightforward narrative style than in some of his novels. Lot of sly humor too and memorable characters. Just finished Mule In The Yard, that was pretty funny

It's not very cozy, we are in the middle of a heat wave. It got up to 114 yesterday, probably will today as well.

Reading the latest issue of American Affairs.

I have AC (though my house does not have insulation). Doesn't change the fact that it's not particularly cozy when it's 114 outside.

Whereas if it were freezing and raining outside and I had a nice fire going inside it would be supremely cozy. Hot weather just isn't cozy is all.

I'm going to finish Blood Meridian today. On chapter 18, not far to go.
I've bought Gravity's Rainbow, Infinite Jest, Brothers Karazamov and I've downloaded Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki. Unsure what to read next.
Any suggestions /lit/?
