Not really, Mustapha Mond tells Marx, John and Horst at the end of the novel that they deliberately retard scientific development because it could cause unhappiness. The argument that they couldn’t have a society exclusively populated by alpha pluses because none of them would want to do the menial jobs of the lower castes smells of bullshit since their society is already mostly automated, why didn’t they develop tech further so it’s fully automated?

That wasn't the entire argument, scientific development was retarded because of the Nine Years' War, and it's not just that alpha plusses didn''t want to do menial labor, they also started a full-on civil war. The lower castes are genuinely happy with their lives.
